About the Position

The Operations Technician – Stuart, FL is a unique hybrid role built for a self-starter who thrives in a dynamic, independent work environment. Reporting directly to the VP & GM, this person will serve as the sole on-site representative for Carolina IAQ's Florida operations, balancing warehouse and distribution responsibilities with growing field service work.

At launch, the role will be approximately 70% warehouse/distribution and 30% IAQ field service, with the expectation that the field service component will grow as Carolina IAQ expands its Florida customer base. This is a ground-floor opportunity to shape the Florida operation and build a career in a stable, growing company.

A Day in the Life

No two days are identical in this role. On warehouse-focused days, the Operations Technician will receive, organize, and fulfill filter inventory orders, load cargo vans and trailers, and execute deliveries to customers throughout the Florida market. On field service days, they will travel to customer facilities — hospitals, schools, and industrial plants — to perform air filtration maintenance, HVAC cleaning, and other IAQ services, following Carolina IAQ's established quality and safety standards. The Operations Technician will be the face of Carolina IAQ in Florida, representing the company with professionalism on every job and every delivery.

Duties & Responsibilities

Warehouse & Distribution (~70% initially)

  • Receive, organize, and manage filter inventory at the Stuart warehouse
  • Fulfill customer filter orders and coordinate outbound shipments and deliveries
  • Operate a cargo van with cargo trailer to execute local and regional deliveries
  • Set up and maintain an organized, efficient warehouse operation
  • Track inventory levels, identify low-stock situations, and communicate replenishment needs to SC operations
  • Document all warehouse activities, receipts, and outbound shipments accurately
  • Coordinate with the SC distribution team during the transition of distribution responsibilities to the Florida location

IAQ Field Service (~30% initially, growing over time)

  • Travel to customer sites (healthcare facilities, educational institutions, industrial plants) to perform IAQ services
  • Perform air filter installation and replacement services per Carolina IAQ standards
  • Assist with or independently complete AHU cleaning, duct cleaning, and overhead cleaning services
  • Follow all Carolina IAQ qualification checklists and safety protocols on every job
  • Use digital tools and mobile applications to document work completed in the field
  • Represent Carolina IAQ professionally at all customer locations
  • Support IAQ field crews when they travel to Florida for larger or complex jobs

General

  • Report directly to the VP & GM, maintaining clear and timely communication on job status, inventory needs, and customer issues
  • Proactively identify operational improvements as the Florida location grows
  • Complete NAFA certification within the first 6 months and NADCA certification within 12 months, sponsored by Carolina IAQ

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to operate a cargo van and pull a cargo trailer
  • At least 2 years of warehouse, distribution, or field service experience
  • Physically able to lift up to 75 lbs., climb ladders, and work at heights in a harness
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision — this role is the sole on-site Carolina IAQ employee in Florida
  • Reliable, drug-free, and professional in appearance and conduct
  • Excellent verbal communication skills; ability to represent the company at customer facilities

Preferred

  • Experience in HVAC, facilities services, or indoor air quality
  • Prior route delivery or distribution experience
  • Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with HVAC components

Compensation & Benefits

Starting Pay: $26.00 per hour

A Note on Future Earning Potential

As the Florida operation grows and the field service component of this role expands, Carolina IAQ intends to introduce a customer upsell incentive program for this position. This program will reward the Operations Technician for identifying and communicating service expansion opportunities while on-site at customer facilities — such as additional service lines, increased filter service frequencies, or new service locations within an existing account. Details of the program structure will be developed in partnership with the employee as the Florida market matures, with the goal of providing meaningful additional earning potential tied directly to the growth of the territory.
